Mae’s Chocolate Cream Pie
Growing up, Clarence and Mae were neighbors that had a quite large dairy farm. Mae, was not only a great cook but an accomplished musician. As my mother was a classical music enthusiast, she and Mae formed a close relationship. As a result this recipe was shared.
Mae’s Chocolate Cream Pie is a classic, from-scratch recipe that is simple, yet sophisticated. Use a prebaked crust of your choice. The filling is a rich, creamy custard made with quality ingredients. Topped with lusciously sweetened whipped cream, it’s a creamy and decadent pie that is sure to please.
The flavor of the pie is perfectly balanced. The crust has a subtle crunch and the custard filling is sweet and creamy. The chocolate is not overly sweet, but provides a rich depth of flavor. The combination of the chocolate and sweetened whipped cream adds richness, sweetness and a hint of decadence.
This pie is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for the perfect dessert for a birthday celebration or want to make something special for your family for a weeknight dinner, Mae’s Chocolate Cream Pie is sure to be a hit.
