Making A Lattice Crust
A lattice crust on a pie makes you look like a culinary pie wizard. Pro tip; it’s not that hard. So when the recipe calls for a lattice crust, don’t pass up the recipe. You will look like a pro.
Lattice Crust
Instructions
- Prepare on unbaked 9 inch pie shell crust. Get basic pie crust recipe here.
- Cut 8 one inch strips with pastry cutter wheel
- Lay five strips across the top of the pie.
- Fold back strips two and four and lay a perpendicular strip across the middle of he top of the pie. Fold strips two and four back to full length over the pie
- Now fold back strips one, three and five on top of pie to the center strip, and lay a perpendicular strip across the the top 1/3 of the pie. Fold back strips one, three and five to full length over the pie.
- Fold back strips one, three and five on bottom of pie to center strip and lay a perpendicular strip across the bottom 1/3 of the pie. Fold back strips one, three and five to full length over the pie.
- Crimp crust and lattice strips.
